Shetland Jewellery
Shetland Jewellery operates from a small factory in the
Shetland Islands which lie about 100 miles off the Northern tip of Scotland.
The workshop itself is set beside a sea loch which abounds
in wildlife especially during the summer months. Arctic terns and other
seabirds hover just outside and wild otters are often seen from our windows.
Shetland Jewellery was founded by Jack Rae in 1953, and
now employs about 12 craftsmen and women all of whom have been trained
in the arts of jewellery manufacture. Each piece is made from start to
finish by the same worker ensuring quality and job satisfaction.
Designs are drawn from Scandinavian mythology and from
local wildlife and have expanded in recent years to include traditional
Celtic designs from other parts of Scotland and Ireland.
Shetland Jewellery is only made in silver, 9ct or 18ct
gold and each piece is guaranteed for life. Every piece is individually
presented in an attractive presentation case.
